6th Grade - Pro-Con Research: Home

The Task

You will conduct research for an argumentative research paper.  Here are some things to keep in mind:

Choose a topic you care about:  Is there something in the news you care about?  Is there a social or political cause you are passionate about?  Is there something in your daily life that you feel strongly about?

Understand your assignment:  What are the requirements?  How many, and what types, of sources do you need?  What are the formatting requirements of your paper?

Select quality sources to strengthen your argument:  Does research exist to support your position?  Are there experts who have written on your topic?  Can you produce counterarguements that will be convincing?
